Villa Merländer

The villa of the silk manufacturer Richard Merländer is now used as a documentation centre of the German National Socialism. The establishment is affiliated to the City Archives. Richard Merländer became a victim of the National Socialist regime owing to his Jewish faith. Since 1991, Villa Merländer e.V. has kept his memory alive and the process of coming to terms with the history of the Nazis in Krefeld. In addition to a permanent exhibition of the wall paintings of Henry Campendonck, regular readings, talks, film shows and concerts are offered.
